Keeping your carpet free of dirt is something you ought to have considered the very moment you decided to buy one. You have the option of buying your own cleaning system, renting a system or hiring an experienced rug cleanser to do the work for you. Each of the options has its upside and downside. For instance, when you decide to buy a system, you will be able to save a lot in the long run. Plus you can do the cleaning at your own convenience without waiting for anybody. On the downside, chances are that your system will not be as powerful as those used by experts.
That can be fixed when you go for the second option of renting from licensed dealers. Most of them will charge you an additional fee for cleaning solutions i.e. defoamer, odor remover, shampoo, spot remover among others. The quality of work in this case will be much better. However, you have to be ready to dig deeper into your accounts.
For those who do not wish to purchase an equipment or have no time to tidy up their carpet, a qualified cleaner is always on standby to attend to your needs. Your only hurdle in this case would be to get the right individual for the job. That should be a person who is skilled, has an impeccable track record and has been in the business for a while. Considering that he knows a lot more about the job than you, he could be considered your best option. All you have to do is negotiate the rates to get a fair deal. Cleaning methods
All the options mentioned above would make use of either dry extraction or hot water extraction method.
Water extraction
In this method, the machine sprays hot water which could be mixed with chemicals, on the carpet. What follows next is that the water will be vacuumed into the equipment together with any dirt particles. You would have to ensure the carpet has dried completely within 24 hours to avoid cases of mildew or mold growth.
Dry extraction
Just like the name suggests, there is no water being sprinkled. Dry absorbent compounds are usually spread on the carpet as a pre-treatment and left for less than 15 minutes. It is then vacuumed with the machine. The good thing about this method is its rapid drying time and it is also gentle on the surface being cleaned. The only disadvantage is their high cost.
